CIRCUTOR signs an agency contract for Brazil

CIRCUTOR consolidates its presence in the world. July 4, 2008, the company signed an agency contract with Mr. Miguel Zorrilla for Brazil. Present for this event were the presidents of CIRCUTOR, Mr. Ramon Comellas and Mr. Ramon Pons, as well as the general director, Mr. Francisco Rosique.

CIRCUTOR, Recognised by the Engineers

The El Vallés delegation of the Engineers of Catalonia presented the company CIRCUTOR with an Honorary Award, as the leading company in the design, manufacture and commercialisation of protection, metering, control and electric power compensation equipment. The company’s strong presence in El Vallès, along with its plans to remain in the region, was also a deciding factor in the Award Panel’s decision.

The Award was presented on the night of 9th November, in Sabadell, during the annual social event held by the delegation of the Col•legi d’Enginyers Industrials del Vallès, which was attended by representatives from the different spheres of society.

During the event a tribute was also paid to engineers who have completed fifty years or more in their profession.

ELECTRICAL POWER QUALITY CONGRESS IN BARCELONA (EPQU 2007)

Recently the ninth edition of the international conference “Electrical Power Quality and Utilisation” was held in the city of Barcelona.

The congress took place in the World Trade Center building in Barcelona, and brought together professionals from different sectors. From the university sphere, passing through industry and even electrical energy distribution companies all came together at this educational and scientific event. During the three days which the congress lasted, professionals from all around the world showed their experiences and studies in the field of power network quality.

Given the huge importance of the event, CIRCUTOR, as one of the leading manufacturers of products for the measurement and improvement of the quality of electrical supply, was present as a sponsor. At one stand, where several products such as network quality analysers, harmonic filters and energy control equipment were presented, CIRCUTOR was exceptionally well received by the attendees, emphasising the involvement of the company in the ongoing development of solutions for network quality whilst improving energy efficiency in facilities.

Also of great importance was the extensive experience CIRCUTOR has in many countries and facilities, ranging from electrical energy generation, transport and finally consumption.

Making full use of the occasion, CIRCUTOR took part in the plenary session which closed the congress, showing its experience in the installation of systems and solutions, along with the use of the latest innovations in industrial communications applied to measuring equipment.

The congress concluded by highlighting the massive participation of all the professionals, whilst underlining the continuous development which companies and official bodies are carrying out in the field of electrical supply quality.

A NEW DESIGN FOR THE PRICE LIST

CIRCUTOR has issued a special edition of its magazine, dedicated this time to street lighting and its necessary efficiency.
The editorial puts forwards different issues based on street lighting, such as its definition, planning, light sources and energy loss in the exploitation phase.

"REACTIVE ENERGY AND HARMONIC FILTERING" SEMINARS

CIRCUTOR holds seminars entitled “Reactive Energy Compensation and Harmonic Filtering: Problems, Diagnosis and Solutions". To take place at our facilities from September to December. Here a basic fundamental overview will be offered of the current electrical panorama, as well as the electrical and technical aspects which are used for reactive energy compensation and filtering of harmonic perturbations.
Given that places are limited, prior registration is required to attend. The last invitation on the 9th of November filled our conference hall with more than 80 participants all of whom were awarded an attendance certificate by the company.

The aim of these seminars is the following:
- Pass on basic knowledge on the main electrical aspects of reactive energy and harmonics.
- Obtain an overview of the equipment and elements used for the compensation of reactive power and harmonic filtering.

CIRCUTOR presents its "Electrical Energy Efficiency Guide"

The Minister for Industry, Tourism and Commerce, Joan Clos, yesterday presided over the act of presentation of the new "CIRCUTOR Electrical Energy Efficiency Guide", at an event held at company headquarters in Viladecavalls (Barcelona) and which was attended by more than 100 guests. With this guide the company aims to respond to need to make companies more competitive without endangering the future of our environment.
The headquarters of CIRCUTOR in Viladecavalls was bedecked yesterday to officially present its new "CIRCUTOR Electrical Energy Efficiency Guide". After 35 years experience in the electrical market it has become an irrefutable reference in the energy efficiency sector, both on a national and international level- present in more than 100 countries - the company has just published this technical guide dealing with Electrical Energy Efficiency.

The minister for Industry, Tourism and Commerce, Joan Clos was offered the first issue of the guide and the Mayor of Viladecavalls - the area in Barcelona which is home to the companies headquarters- was in charge of presiding this presentation.

The “CIRCUTOR Electrical Energy Efficiency Guide”, is the result of a group of professionals at CIRCUTOR and their experience in national and international markets, enabling them to respond to the real needs of society and industry in general: optimising energy resources and making companies more competitive, while simultaneously reducing environmental impact.

CIRCUTOR will control the energy of Burj Dubai, the tallest tower in the world

The energy control of Burj Dubai, the tallest tower in the world, will be managed by the company CIRCUTOR. The Catalonia-based company has been awarded the public tender, in which more than a dozen companies in the sector also participated. Burj Dubai, which is currently in the construction phase, will be more than 800 metres high when finished.

CIRCUTOR designs, manufactures and commercialises equipment for industrial electrical protection, measuring and energy control and power factor correction, and has been awarded the contract for the energy control of the Burj Dubai building, the tallest tower in the world. After winning the public tender, in which more than a dozen companies in the sector also participated, CIRCUTOR will be responsible for providing the measuring equipment to be used to carry out the energy control of the tower and to measure how much electricity each floor will require, among other factors.

The Burj Dubai is being built in Dubai (United Arab Emirates) and will be more than 800 metres high. Ramon Comellas, Cofounder and President of the Group, highlights the publicity this project will give the company. Besides the project we have already mentioned in Dubai, the company, which is based in ViIadecavalls (Vallès Occidental), has worked at the Sydney Olympics 2000, Peking 2008, Hong Kong airport, Dubai Internet City, hospitals, theme parks, etc. "Sometimes you are less of a prophet in your own land", Comellas joked.

Nevertheless, the company’s export figures prove him right: CIRCUTOR exports 50% of its production to the United States, Japan, Southeast Asia and the Middle East, whilst the rest of Europe takes 28% of the total. In order to cover the demand at these points the company has five production centres and more than a dozen Local Offices distributed across a hundred countries, as well as a distribution network.

This Catalonia-based company was founded in 1973 and reached a turnover of 98 million euros in 2006, and the forecast for this year is more than 114 million. As regards its short-term objectives, the President points out the need to become stronger in the Sector and to achieve growth primarily through exports ("it is difficult to grow in Spain ", he said) and through the opening of more Local Offices.

CIRCUTOR in Turkey

CIRCUTOR being present in the Turkish market from year 2000 has signed a collaboration agreement with the Turkish company ECT MUHENDISLIK ELEK ELECTRO which includes CIRCUTOR shareholding in the company ECT.

The main goal of this agreement is to reinforce CIRCUTOR presence in the Turkish market, and to double present turnover at the same time, allocating Turkey as one of the first export markets for CIRCUTOR.

This way CIRCUTOR shows its commitment to Turkey, which is geographically strategic located between Europe and Asia, door to Middle East markets and Caucasian Republics, with estimated population of 90 million people and sustained growth (GDP) near to 10% during last years, counting with big infrastructures and construction projects as well.

CIRCUTOR receives the award for the best Catalan commercial initiative given by the Unión Empresarial del Penedès (UEP) [Penedes Business Union]

CIRCUTOR, SA has been awarded the prize for the best commercial initiative by the Unión Empresarial del Penedès (UEP), in front of 600 invited guests at the first Catalonia Business Evening. The company, specialising in the manufacture and marketing of industrial, electrical protection equipment, electrical energy measurement and control equipment and power factor correction, received the award from the Prince of Asturias.

The Unión Empresarial del Penedès (UEP) hosted the gala on 12th April to celebrate its first Catalonia Business Evening, the most important event designed to celebrate its fifth anniversary.

More than 600 people met in the Codorniu Cava cellars to celebrate this event which culminated in presenting of the first UEP awards. The Prince of Asturias and the President of UEP, Albert Calzada, were present to hand over the prizes.

Among the prize winners was CIRCUTOR, SA, which received the award for the best commercial initiative in Catalonia 2006. Ramon Comellas, company Chairman received this important prize.

Success for CIRCUTOR at the latest edition of MATELEC

More than 2000 professionals from the electrical and electronic sector visited the CIRCUTOR exhibition stand during the latest edition of Matelec, held in Madrid between 24th and 28th October. At a trade show with about 70 000 professionals from the sector, CIRCUTOR once again demonstrated why it remains leader in the industrial protection equipment, electrical energy measurement and control, power factor correction and harmonic correction markets..

CIRCUTOR used their exhibition stand to present their new range of RGU-10 relays which are remarkable for their display and small size. They also showed the CBS-4 earth-leakage stations, the new generation of CVMk2 power analyzers and added value electrical energy meters, such as the astronomical clock meter, the maximum demand control meter, etc.
